This grant will support the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence which coordinates the Arizona Statewide Afterschool Network. The network seeks to improve afterschool program quality across the state by developing and promoting a comprehensive quality improvement system. In addition to continuing its core work to advance afterschool in Arizona, the network will complete a multiyear project to: 1) work with education and afterschool stakeholders to develop and promote the adoption of afterschool standards that support formal education; 2) endorse program assessment tools that align with the standards; and 3) design a multitiered professional development system.
