The program goal of the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce is to build mid-Michigan's regional workforce development capacity through a series of initiatives including creation of a small business development infrastructure, reflections on lessons learned in reshaping the state's workforce policy, implementation of the federally funded Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development initiative, and evaluation of an alternative staffing pilot in Flint designed to facilitate employment for the hard-to-employ.
