The program goal is to stimulate community-based civic engagement and resource mobilization in Bosnia-Herzegovina. During 2012-2013, the Tuzla Community Foundation will play a convening and capacity building role in the community, support community initiatives and projects through grants, strengthen philanthropy locally through fund development and outreach to the community, and develop its board and staff capacities for leadership and management. During the past two years, the grantee supported and trained community organizers and community councils in marginalized neighborhoods, engaged more than 60 young people in decisionmaking on grant programs through its YouthBank project, supported community projects for community school and community center development. Based in Tuzla, the grantee is networked with other community foundations and community-based organizations working with youth in Europe.
