The Parent/Teacher Home Visit Project works with local community groups to provide training to parents and teachers on effective home visits, which have been shown to improve student outcomes. This success led the California State Legislature to appropriate funds for teacher pay and training to districts throughout California, and the project is also being replicated in other localities across the country. This grant increase will provide partial support for the launch of a new national data collection and analysis plan and the formation of a national advisory committee to guide future expansion.
