The Michigan Environmental Council, a statewide environmental organization representing more than 70 partner groups, has continued to deepen and expand its role as a leader in transportation policy issues in recent years. This includes serving as lead coordinator and convener in developing a transportation reform partnership in Michigan that includes a diverse network of key organizations from across the state. This renewal grant will allow the grantee to continue developing and strengthening the partnership to move Michigan toward a seamless, multimodal transportation system; increase investment in underfunded modes that expand transportation access; foster citizen engagement in transportation policy decisions; and improve the connection between transportation planning and community economic development.
