With prior Mott support, the Alliance for Economic Success conducted the Understanding Wind Initiative, a community education and engagement process in Manistee and Benzie Counties (Michigan), designed to inform the debate around a proposed wind energy farm. The community dialogue, engendered by the initiative, led to the widespread conclusion that the townships in the region need a shared land development vision and master plan. With continuing support, the grantee will coordinate the development of such a master plan, as well as a collaborative implementation strategy.
