Through a partnership between the Cranbrook Educational Community's Institute of Science and the Flint Community Schools, Flint students in grades seven and eight will receive supplemental educational opportunities in science that correspond with grade-level content. Programming offered by the grantee will include access to the institute's staff, collections, and resources; an opportunity for Flint families to spend a day at the institute, including transportation; annual membership passes to the institute and affiliated museums that families can check out for unlimited use; rich, in-depth professional development for faculty; and a summer program for a smaller group of Flint students.
