Grant Period: 7/1/2012 to 6/30/2013
Program: Pathways Out of Poverty

This grant will enable Rutgers University Foundation to convene a national forum where practitioners, supporters, and policymakers in the college access arena can discuss the current context, practice, accomplishments, and challenges for developing and sustaining precollege bridge programming in the United States. Using the Rutgers Future Scholars program as a backdrop, this grant will allow the grantee to profile its experience in implementing a precollege bridge program to a national audience for the purpose of promoting the most creative and effective programs for ensuring college access and success. This program is one of the more promising precollege efforts focused on preparing low-income students for college. Recommended support will also allow the grantee to enhance its 12th grade curriculum and support its ongoing evaluation efforts of the model.
