This grant will provide funds to the Eastern Michigan University Foundation for the John W. Porter Distinguished Chair in Urban Education Endowment. The grant provides for an annual appointment of renowned scholars and is designed to provide opportunities for learning and leadership in the fields of urban and community education and actively expand Eastern Michigan University's role in urban school districts in Michigan with an emphasis on school-community partnerships.
