This grant will provide general purposes support to Focus: HOPE to deliver an array of comprehensive workforce training, adult education, social supports, childcare, and food distribution services to low-income residents in Detroit. Since 1981, Focus: HOPE has been one of the country's most effective anti-poverty and civil rights organizations whose sole mission has been to help individuals acquire the skills necessary to gain and maintain successful employment, career advancement, and access to the economic mainstream. This renewal grant will help Focus: HOPE implement a comprehensive plan to address the issues confronting the neighborhoods in the immediate area surrounding its campus, as well as leverage investments by other foundations, businesses, and public-sector supporters to sustain its overall core activities.
