Global Fund for Community Foundations

The program goal is to strengthen community foundations globally. To this end, the Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support and the European Foundation Centre will develop and manage a grantmaking fund focusing on community foundations and their support organizations in developing and transitioning countries around the world. The fund's objectives include demonstrating the potential of community foundations as instruments for achieving community empowerment; building long-term local resources through the promotion and development of local philanthropy; strengthening national-level networks of and support organizations for community foundations; and promoting peer-to-peer learning among community foundation initiatives throughout the world.
