U.S. Ignite accelerates broadband technology in 16 cities
The White House
announced on June 13, 2012, the launch of
US Ignite, a national initiative designed to help software and technology developers in the United States build the world’s next generation of digital applications and
superfast networks. Those resources are expected to advance such sectors as education, healthcare and energy, and help grow the country’s economic future.
US Ignite is being initially launched in 16 cities across the country, including the Mott Foundation’s home community of Flint, Michigan. Mott helped support the development of the national Ignite initiative with a
2011 grant of $57,000 to
One Economy Corporation in Washington, D.C.
