Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support

Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium

The project goal is to promote and develop philanthropy globally. Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support is a global network linking grantmaker associations and support organizations through international exchange, information services, networking, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities. During 2003-2006, the network was hosted by the European Foundation Centre in Brussels. Accomplishments during this period included increasing the membership from 85 to 140; organizing eight peer learning events and exchange visits; producing several publications on relevant topics; and convening important meetings and events, such as the Community Foundation Global Symposium in Berlin in 2004 and the Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support Forum in Bangkok in 2006. From January 2007 through 2010, the network will be hosted by the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium in Manila.
