The program goal is to strengthen women's participation in community development initiatives and in local- and national-level decisionmaking. To this end, this grant supports the organizational and programmatic development of the Kosova Women's Network, a network of Kosovar women's nongovernmental organizations. The network supports its members through advocacy, networking activities, capacity-building opportunities, and joint campaigns. In 2008-2009, the network will focus on empowering women to participate in politics and decisionmaking processes, preventing trafficking of women and girls and assisting victims of trafficking, improving access to and the quality of women's healthcare, and strengthening member organizations' capacities. Based in Pristina, the network has 81 members located throughout Kosovo and representing all ethnic groups.
