The program goal is to ensure independent funding for community foundation development in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia (the Visegrad countries). To this end, the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland will survey community foundation needs and capacities, provide tailor-made grantmaking and technical assistance programs, and facilitate networking among community foundations in the Visegrad countries. Since its establishment in 1998, the grantee has supported the development of over 20 community foundations in Poland and gained a reputation as one of the leading philanthropy development organizations in Central and Eastern Europe.
