This grant will provide partial support for the redevelopment of the historic Durant Hotel in downtown Flint. The Durant Hotel and two contiguous parcels of property were acquired by the Genesee County Land Bank Authority for the purpose of a redevelopment project that will contribute to Flint's downtown revitalization. The building will be renovated into 118 market-rate apartments oriented toward students and faculty of the local colleges and universities. The project will be a federally certified historic rehabilitation with one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 650 to 950 square feet.
