Kettering University, the only fully cooperative engineering and management university in the United States, has been an integral component of Flint's higher education system since 1919. The university has 2,070 full-time, undergraduate students and 519 graduate students for the 2007-2008 academic year. This grant will provide initial funding for components of a multiyear series of initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment, providing merit-based scholarships for incoming students, and raising $125 million to support campus growth and the endowment.
