The project goal is to strengthen the community foundation field in Slovakia. During the grant period, the Association of Slovak Community Foundations will strengthen its advocacy and representative role, improve its current services for members, promote community foundations as vehicles for community development in Slovakia, and increase its organizational capacity and financial sustainability. The association was established in 2003 with the mission to develop the community foundation field in Slovakia, strengthen the capacity of its members, and represent Slovak community foundations at national and international levels. Currently, the association has nine members that serve about 35 percent of the territory of Slovakia. In the past two years, the association developed a long-term organizational development strategy, provided learning and networking opportunities to its members, and increased the visibility of the Slovak community foundation field nationally and internationally.
