This grant will continue support to the National Employment Law Project to bolster Michigan's and Flint's knowledge of how to piece together a rapid and effective response to severe job loss and economic dislocation. The grantee's technical assistance initiative promotes a battery of better practices that have proven more effective in getting workers to participate in retraining and take fuller advantage of a range of dislocated worker programs. In Flint, the grantee will continue to deploy a dislocated worker facilitator. The grantee has assisted with a number of rapid response/dislocation events; worked with local community, religious, and nonprofit agencies; and promoted a worker retraining agenda with Genesee County stakeholders.
