The grantee will support the further development of the Dobriy Nizhny charity festival organized collectively by the centers. During 2008-2009, the grantee trained 22 social animators and helped establish 10 local activity centers. The first annual Dobriy Nizhny festival of giving raised over $10,000 in cash and a greater amount of in-kind contributions, primarily from individuals. Established in 1994, the Sluzhenye Association is a leading provider of support and services for nongovernmental organizations and community leaders in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
