Community Development Foundation Western Cape

The Community Development Foundation Western Cape is a community grantmaker that was established in 2007. It was incubated by the Foundation for Community Work, a community development organization based in Cape Town, South Africa. The grantee supports community initiatives in the Western Cape province through making small grants, partnering with communities in implementing their programs, and building local philanthropy by encouraging giving circles and asset-building initiatives within communities. It also facilitates dialogue platforms for community members to share experiences and learn from each other in order to address various challenges affecting their communities. This grant will support the grantee to implement programs that encourage and enhance local giving within communities and to strengthen community efforts aimed at improving the quality of their lives.
