Community Building Mitrovica

The project goal is to strengthen the capacity of Community Building Mitrovica -- a nongovernmental organizational in Mitrovica, Kosovo -- to lead and support economic, social, and civic redevelopment in the deeply divided city of Mitrovica. With a strong emphasis on the participation of people from all of the city's ethnic groups, the grantee works to bridge divisions by building economic, cultural, social, and political links across the community. In order to continue playing this important role, the organization will strengthen its capacities for civic leadership by improving management within the organization, developing the financial management and planning skills of core staff, establishing a governing board, and upgrading information technology systems. Based in downtown Mitrovica, Community Building Mitrovica has been active since 2001 and is well recognized as a community leader.
