A Hoosier by birth, Ann Richards has spent most of her adult life as a resident of Flint, Michigan. A graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, she received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism before moving to Michigan to work as a reporter for The Flint Journal. After stints with several local nonprofits, she joined the staff of the Mott Foundation’s Communications Department in 1990. She earned a master’s degree in Liberal Studies in American Culture from the University of Michigan-Flint’s Rackham Graduate Program in 2007. Early in her career with Mott, she was put to work researching the Foundation’s history and subsequently has enjoyed being part of the team that orients staff to their new place of employment. She has two children and two cats, but only one husband.
