One of two grants compliance specialists at the Mott Foundation, Ashley Johnson is responsible for reviewing both domestic and international grant recommendations, making sure they comply with all legal and financial laws and procedures. A lifelong resident of Flint, Michigan, she married her middle-school sweetheart, and they now are the parents of two small children and a very large rescue dog. Binge watching television — when the kids are down for the night — is their chief form of entertainment these days, though Johnson also is an adventurous Italian cook when she has the time. A graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint’s School of Management, she has a bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance. Prior to joining Mott, the certified public accountant worked as an associate with Plante Moran, where she specialized in audits of nonprofit clients.
