About

As grants manager at the Mott Foundation, Scott Loughlin helps ensure that domestic and international grant recommendations comply with all legal and financial laws and procedures.

Originally from Ortonville, Michigan, Loughlin attended Northwood University in Midland, where he studied business administration and graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in both accounting and finance. While at Northwood, he competed on the cross country and track and field teams, and served as president of the university’s honorary accounting society.

Before joining the Mott Foundation, Loughlin was a senior financial statement auditor at Plante Moran in Flint, where he gained industry experience specializing in nonprofits, K-12 education and manufacturing companies. He also became a licensed CPA.

Loughlin is an avid hiker and distance runner who gives back to his community through volunteer projects that address homelessness and promote children’s health, animal welfare and disaster relief. He is inspired by the Mott Foundation’s programs and purpose, and “being part of a team that is working to make the Flint community and the rest of the world a better place.”
