Vera Dakova is a program officer responsible for grantmaking in the Enhancing Community Philanthropy program area. Based in our London office, she initially managed grantmaking in the Visegrad countries, followed by country-specific grantmaking in Bulgaria and Romania, and regional grantmaking in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Prior to joining Mott in 2005, Dakova worked as a consultant, evaluator, researcher and trainer for donor organizations and nongovernmental organizations throughout CEE and the former Soviet Union, including the Charities Aid and King Baudouin foundations. During those years, she also served as a consultant to Mott. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Bulgarian Philology from Sofia University and a master’s degree in Global Development Management from the Open University in the United Kingdom.
