About this grant
This grant supports the Association of Charitable Foundations, a membership organization of over 300 grantmakers in the U.K. The grantee offers a wide range of services and programs to support and enhance philanthropy, including annual conferences, publications, technical assistance, and networking. Recent accomplishments include publishing groundbreaking research on giving trends in the U.K; refreshing its Professional Development Programme to explore aspects of foundation strategy and grantmaking practice; hosting fundernetwork.org.uk, an online peer-to-peer, knowledge-sharing hub with over 500 active members; and publishing a quarterly magazine, “Trust & Foundation News”, and a monthly newsletter, “Funders’ News”. In the next grant period, the grantee will develop a series of annual publications about the role and activities of foundations, make full use of new opportunities afforded by technology and social media, and launch a new publication series aimed at promoting good practice in grantmaking.
