About this grant
This grant supports the Council on Foundations’ Global Philanthropy Program, which aims to promote and facilitate responsible and effective grantmaking among its members and to support philanthropy as an essential part of strengthened civil society around the world. Through this program, the grantee has developed and implemented programs and services that promote excellence in global philanthropy, advocated for regulatory reform to catalyze domestic global philanthropy, and provided leadership to the global philanthropy sector. Future plans include continuing support for the Global Grantmaking Institute, concluding the Global Philanthropy Leadership Initiative and championing its outcomes, continuing to work on achieving regulatory approval for the creation of Equivalency Determination Information Repositories, and providing general member services to enhance international grantmaking. Founded in 1949, the Council on Foundations is a membership organization of private, community, and corporate foundations, primarily in the United States.
