About this grant
This grant supports the Council on Foundations’ Global Philanthropy Program, which helps its members undertake cross-border philanthropy and support grantees in other countries around the world. Over the past 18 months, the grantee has worked with partners on Financial Action Task Force guidelines; kept members aware of changing international regulations that impact cross-border philanthropic flows; maintained a library of resources on international grantmaking on its Website; and offered a significant amount of global programming at its conferences. Following the recent arrival of a new staff person to head the program and a subsequent stakeholder analysis, the Global Philanthropy Program will be framed around three pillars of activity: 1) effective cross-border grantmaking; 2) policy and regulation of cross-border grantmaking; and 3) global conversations and convening. Founded in 1949, the Council on Foundations is a membership organization of private, community, and corporate foundations, primarily in the United States.
