About this grant
The National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights created the project BRIDGE: Building a Race and Immigration Dialogue in the Global Era to connect immigrants, people of color and social activists. This grant will enable BRIDGE to increase immigrant community engagement; deepen the capacity of an emerging corps of immigrant and refugee community organizers through the BRIDGE Trainers Bureau; and develop new education curricula and resources to support skill-building for immigrant and refugee groups. In May 2004, the network published the BRIDGE resource manual after two years of re-testing and development with 70 community groups. In September 2005, the Second Annual Immigrant and Refugee Rights Training Institute was held. More than 100 organizers and community leaders engaged in capacity-building trainings and dialogues.
