About this grant
This grant supports the Association of Black Foundation Executives, a membership organization that promotes effective and responsive philanthropy in black communities. The grantee is dedicated to the professional development of its members who are staff and board members of philanthropic organizations. Its primary areas of programming are networking and convening, professional development, training and technical assistance, and advocacy. Last year, the grantee launched its Responsive Philanthropy in Black Communities Framework and Knowledge Center. Over the next three years the grantee will focus on four primary outcomes: 1) an increased understanding within the philanthropic sector of the complex issues facing black communities; 2) effective partnerships and networks that strengthen black communities; 3) linkages within the philanthropic sector to develop coordinated strategies that leverage resources for the greatest social impact in black communities; and 4) investments of new resources targeted to priority issues and policies that impact black people and communities.
