About this grant

In recent years, the Michigan Environmental Council, a statewide coalition of environmental groups, has worked to align transportation-related decisions in Michigan with emerging opportunities at the federal level; build broad support for a state transportation agenda that calls for increased investments in public transportation and nonmotorized options; and promote connections between transportation and other prominent public concerns. This renewal grant will allow the grantee to continue such work with a focus on expanding state and federal resources available for transit and nonmotorized transportation options, promoting an intercity rail network in Michigan, assisting in the implementation of the new regional transit authority in southeast Michigan, and advancing other statewide transportation priorities.
