About this grant

The Greater Flint Arts Council promotes cultural diversity in the arts community. Through the support of more than 500 members, the council provides programs that appeal to a broad section of the Flint community, such as the Arts Incubator, Empty Bowls, Artshare, children’s programs and an outreach exhibition series. The council collaborates with more than a dozen local agencies, schools and businesses to deliver these services.Multiyear funding will support activities that include assisting local artists through the Arts Incubator program and the Parade of Festivals; helping arts agencies secure alternate funding sources; providing information and referral services; offering art education programs; combating hunger and homelessness through the Empty Bowls project; and regranting public funds in six counties through the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs.
