About this grant
During the past 15 years, state associations of nonprofits have emerged as effective providers of services and peer-to-peer support to local nonprofit agencies. Today, the National Council of Nonprofit Associations (NCNA) serves over 22,000 members in 45 states and the District of Columbia. This grant will enable NCNA to continue to serve, strengthen and support state associations. In addition, NCNA will develop a new business model to lessen its dependence on national foundation support and serve as the lead organization for the Nonprofit Congress, an initiative to bring together the nation’s nonprofits to develop a unified vision and collective voice for the sector. In 2005, NCNA responded to more than 1,000 requests for technical assistance from members and the general public regarding all areas of nonprofit management and public policy.
