About this grant
This grant supports the National Council of Nonprofits, the nation’s largest network of nonprofits, now with more than 25,000 member organizations across the country. Its mission is to advance the vital role, capacity, and voice of charitable, nonprofit organizations. The grantee works through its network of state associations to help nonprofits operate more effectively, engage in critical policy issues affecting the sector, and achieve greater impact in their communities. Over the past two years, the grantee expanded and strengthened as a network; advocated for policies favorable to the nonprofit sector; raised public awareness and advanced solutions regarding the government-nonprofit contracting system; and became the United States’ representative to the worldwide CIVICUS Affinity Group of National Associations. During the upcoming grant period, the grantee will strengthen the capacity of nonprofits, give voice to nonprofits through public policy advocacy, and highlight the vital roles that charitable nonprofits play in benefiting local communities.
