About this grant
The European Foundation Centre (EFC) was established in 1989 to promote philanthropy in Europe. With membership drawn from across Europe and partnership arrangements with associations of foundations throughout the world, EFC’s services are in regular demand and it is highly dependent upon computer technology to provide timely information services to its constituency and partners.Funding will enable EFC to purchase new hardware and software, and support a systems administrator and intern to provide ongoing information technology support. Currently, EFC is linked to 7,000 organizations via networks at the national level in 35 countries in Europe and globally. Since its creation, EFC developed the Orpheus database of funding information; created a model of national-level databases in Europe; published nine European funding directories; provided information on European Union funding opportunities; and published information about programs through newsletters and an electronic newsletter.
