About this grant
Freshwater Future supports community-based groups working locally to protect aquatic habitats throughout the Great Lakes basin. With Mott support over the last 14 years, the grantee (formerly a project of Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council) has provided over $1 million to these groups in the form of small grants, technical support, and communications assistance. Additional services offered include networking opportunities, educational materials, and communications support. With this renewal, the grantee will continue to offer these programs while connecting its constituents to broader policy reform efforts. The grantee will also maintain its efforts to strengthen its own organizational capacity through board and staff development and revenue diversification.
