About this grant
Freshwater Future supports citizen groups working across the Great Lakes Basin to protect and improve their communities’ rivers, lakes, and wetland ecosystems. With prior Mott support, the grantee offered an array of technical assistance and capacity-building services to grassroots groups. The organization also connected its constituents to binational and regional Great Lakes policy reform efforts to protect water quality from threats such as Asian carp and impacts from new resource extraction activities. With renewed support, the grantee will continue to strengthen the capacity of individual watershed groups while also helping amplify their collective voice on high priority regional Great Lakes issues.
