About this grant

The mission of the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland is to promote philanthropy and support the development of community-based philanthropic organizations in Poland. The academy provides grants and capacity-building assistance to philanthropic organizations, enabling them to address local issues effectively.Multiyear funding will enable the academy to pursue objectives that include developing local philanthropic mechanisms to enable communities to improve the quality of life at the local level; support local projects to stimulate communities; promote philanthropy at the local level; encourage greater exchange of experiences among Polish grantmakers through participation in the Polish Donors Forum; and strengthen international cooperation among community foundation and other philanthropic organizations.Recent accomplishments included helping establish 17 local philanthropies; supporting 173 local projects with grants totaling $600,000 to mobilize local citizens; and facilitating exchanges among community foundations.
