About this grant

This grant will provide general purposes support for Corner House’s long-term goal to enhance the democratic control by communities in developed and developing countries over the decisions and resources that affect their lives and livelihood. To attain this goal, Corner House works to reform international finance and trade institutions, in particular the World Bank, European-based export credit agencies, and private banks. Corner House also monitors the impacts of specific projects and programs funded by other international financial institutions, particularly in the hydropower, forestry, and carbon sectors. As well, Corner House undertakes media and educational activities related to the sustainable development impacts of bilateral and international investment agreements, in addition to the broader issues of accountability and governance structures of the World Trade Organization.
