About this grant
This grant will continue to support the work of the Forest Peoples Programme to ensure that the rights and interests of forest peoples are given priority in the policies and programs of the World Bank Group, the Inter-American Development Bank, and other international financial institutions. The Forest Peoples Programme has played a vital role in ensuring that the concerns of indigenous peoples and other forest-dependent communities are taken into consideration in the review processes of the World Bank Group’s safeguards and standards. This project will maintain their bottom up approach to advocacy by assisting forest peoples themselves to engage in policy debates and ensuring that the lessons learned from the program’s field projects are fed effectively into the advocacy process.
