About this grant
The Association of Citizen Advice Bureaux was created to enable citizens in the Czech Republic to exercise their rights through access to information, advice and practical support. The association is a group of information offices that provides free, independent, confidential and impartial information and legal advice.Multiyear funding will enable the association to improve the quality of management and counseling of its members; and expand the network with 10 new members to cover new areas of the country. In addition, it will produce a manual on its methodology and experience that will enable members to influence public policy more effectively. Accomplishments during the past two years included building membership from 17 in 2002 to 34 in 2004; improving and updating the database on legislation; providing training and capacity-building services to members; and cooperating with similar organizations elsewhere in Europe.
