About this grant
The Legal Resources Trust provides legal support to civil society organizations on issues ranging from legal education and litigation to the administration of justice. This project provides support to nonprofits on how to establish, register, and administer nonprofit organizations. It also provides legal support services to community-based advice offices. Over the last two years, the grantee assisted various nonprofit organizations to register appropriately, trained paralegals in advice offices and other legal professionals on nonprofit laws, and updated materials on governance and laws that affect nonprofits. Additionally, it explored collaboration with faith-based institutions on providing services to their members on matters related to the violation of human rights. This grant will support the grantee to continue these activities, as well as update and translate some of its materials into several South African indigenous languages.
