About this grant
This grant will provide continued general purpose support to the Isandla Institute, a public interest think tank with a primary focus on fostering just, equitable, and democratic urban settlements in South Africa. The institute is one of the leading research organizations in the country on issues related to local government and urban development. Utilizing innovative research and working with multiple partners, the Isandla Institute nurtures, tests, and disseminates new policy ideas intended to reduce urban inequity, poverty, racism, and social exclusion. The institute’s work will focus on building innovative partnerships, facilitate public dialogue and shared learning experiences, and information dissemination through publications and its Web site.
