About this grant
The Great Lakes Washington Program of the Northeast-Midwest Institute provides an important voice for the Great Lakes region in Washington, D.C. The grantee is a nonprofit think-tank dedicated to improving the economic and environmental health of states in the Northeast and Midwest regions. With prior support from Mott, the grantee facilitated diverse coalitions to protect and enhance the Great Lakes region, provided policy analyses, and conducted briefings on issues that impact the health of the Great Lakes. With this grant renewal, the grantee will continue these efforts while researching solutions to prevent the introduction of new invasive species through ships’ ballast water.
