About this grant
Founded in 1997, the Alabama Rivers Alliance works to protect and restore Alabama’s waterways which are among the most biologically diverse in North America. This grant increase will allow the grantee to continue engaging in freshwater policy issues such as the Alabama Water Agenda, which prioritizes the most important threats to the state’s water resources. The grantee will also continue to build citizen capacity to support local watersheds, monitor hydropower relicensing efforts, and build its own organizational capacity.
