About this grant

This general purposes grant provides renewal support to the International Association for Volunteer Effort. The association’s mission is to promote, support, and strengthen the development of volunteering worldwide. With more than 500 members in over 70 countries around the world, the association offers a range of services including biennial global conferences, Web-based learning and networking opportunities, and representation vis-à-vis global bodies, such as the United Nations. In 2006, in addition to its regular activities, the association organized its 19th World Volunteer Conference in New Delhi, India, that attracted 600 participants from 53 countries. In 2007-2010, the International Association for Volunteer Effort will focus on strengthening its position as a key leadership organization for volunteering worldwide, building its capacity in policy and practice development, expanding its membership and enhancing membership services, and maintaining good governance and efficient management of the organization.
