About this grant

The center was established in 1997 to provide positive activities for youth and contribute to the development of a civil society. Since its inception it has developed into a model for community-based programming and national and international policy development and advocacy on youth, education and peace-building issues.Multiyear funding will enable the center to pursue program and organizational development. Activities will include providing conflict-resolution training to teachers in secondary schools in the Republic of Srpska; assisting in the formation and training of student councils in 70 high schools in 35 towns; establishing youth commissions; strengthening its board of directors, international advisory board and youth council; developing the capacity to administer and monitor a grants program; and organizing a strategic planning exercise.
