About this grant

The goal of the project is to reestablish social and community life in isolated and war-affected regions of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to develop a sustainable and active local civil society and nonprofit sector. During the past four years, CARE USA has provided support to more than 35 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.Multiyear funding will enable CARE USA to support select grassroots, community-based civic organizations working with Roma; provide training, mentoring and financial support to youth networks and associations; and strengthen the role of the nonprofit sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, CARE USA will stimulate discussions among key stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the goal of producing a critical analysis of the needs of the nonprofit sector.
