About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen youth development and active participation in addressing violence and peace-building challenges in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia. To this end, CARE USA will provide financial and technical assistance to eight nongovernmental organizations across the region. Selected organizations will receive support to develop and implement programs that promote peace building, address issues of masculinity and violence, and engage young people directly in community and civic initiatives. A particular focus will be given to working with community-based organizations in eastern Bosnia. During the most recent grant period, the project increased the participation of Roma youth in public life by providing financial support, training, and mentoring to three Roma-led organizations in Bosnia. This project is implemented by CARE USA through the offices of CARE International in Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina. CARE USA’s purpose is to help the developing world’s poor in their efforts to achieve social and economic well-being.
